During public comment, the resident, who identified himself as Jack, asked whether the municipal-code definition in section 58‑31 — titled “definitions” — includes secondhand goods such as appliances. A board member or staff member replied that the board implements the zoning code and that municipal-code definitions and regulations fall under a different part of village administration. The staff member said he had received correspondence from Jack and owed a response from the office.
The staff member told Jack, “This board doesn't really deal with the municipal code definitions or the municipal code regulations,” and added that the board’s work concerns zoning implementation. Jack acknowledged that explanation and the exchange concluded with the board closing public comment and adjourning later in the meeting.
No formal action, motion or vote regarding section 58‑31 was taken at the meeting. The staff member said the office would follow up with Jack on his inquiry.
