Riverwoods finance director reports audit progress; board approves minutes and bills

The Village of Riverwoods Board of Trustees approved minutes from the May 20 meeting and approved the bills presented, and Finance Director Vasquez updated the board on the village audit process and upcoming budget work.
Director Vasquez reported he had finished his review of the final draft of the 2024 audits and said Ed Tracy of audit firm Selden Fox will present the audit findings at the board’s next meeting. "We had a much better experience this year, starting with beginning our audit field work early to help ensure that we met the June 30 deadline," Vasquez said, and added he would begin preliminary work on the 2026 budget in July.
During the bills discussion a trustee asked about a $254.87 charge to Michael Clayton listed as software; Director Vasquez said he would double‑check the item and follow up.
Trustees moved and seconded approval of the minutes and of the bills; the board recorded the votes and confirmed the motions carried.
Director Vasquez also welcomed two newly sworn board members and trustees offered public praise for keeping the audit process on schedule.
No further fiscal action was taken tonight beyond the approvals noted; Director Vasquez will return with the audit presentation from Selden Fox and with budget development updates in coming meetings.
