The Tippecanoe County Drainage Board on June 4 awarded the Lower Elliott regulated-drain construction contract to Atlas Excavating as low bidder at $799,014 and approved a separate construction-observation contract with T Bird Design for $79,900.
County staff said they reviewed the low bid and accompanying documents and found the math and materials in order before recommending the award. "Atlas Excavating was the low bidder, $799,014.00," staff reported; a motion to award the contract was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board next considered a construction-observation contract with T Bird Design for the same regulated drain project in the amount of $79,900; staff recommended approval and the board approved the contract by voice vote.
Separately, staff updated the board on the John Bowes County Regulated Drain reconstruction awarded to Reinhardt Excavating. Work is underway: staff reported heavy equipment onsite, clearing and grubbing completed in preparation, and expected channel excavation to begin the following week.
Board motions to award the contracts and to approve the observation contract were passed by voice vote in the meeting record.
