Commission recognizes Walton County Citizens Corps volunteers and EMS supervisor Josh Mobley

The Walton County Board of Commissioners recognized local volunteers and county employees during the meeting.
Commissioners presented a certificate of appreciation to leaders of the Walton County Citizens Corps Council for volunteer service supporting emergency preparedness and response. County officials described the council as a leadership arm for volunteer organizations including CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service), Skywarn weather spotters, Medical Reserve Corps, and American Red Cross representatives. Staff noted the council is self-funded, and praised members for training, redundancy in communications and assistance during disasters.
Separately, the commission recognized Joshua (Josh) Mobley, a Walton County EMS supervisor who completed a yearlong leadership course through the Georgia Emergency Medical Services Association. County staff described the course as statewide, multi-session training that emphasized leadership, communication, character and other supervisory skills; the county presented Mobley with a certificate acknowledging his achievement.
The board and staff thanked volunteers and the EMS employee, noting their contributions to county emergency readiness. No formal action or budgetary authorizations were associated with the recognitions.
