Murray Power crews help bring electricity to Navajo Nation; council highlights volunteer effort

Murray City council members on June 3 recognized a volunteer effort by Murray Power crews that helped bring electricity to homes in the Navajo Nation.
Mayor Els and staff praised the Light Up Navajo program, which Murray Power joined for a fourth year to install service to remote homes. The mayor singled out four Murray employees who volunteered in the effort and credited their work with changing lives; staff showed a short video of a resident receiving electricity for the first time.
City officials said the program is a volunteer partnership that offers technical support, materials and labor to connect homes lacking electrical service. Council members welcomed continued participation and thanked the volunteers and donors who supported the mission.
