The Enterprise City Council approved an amendment to the use of a $25,000 Main Street Alabama grant, allowing $12,500 of the grant to be transferred to the Downtown Enterprise Business Association / Friends of Main Street (a 501(c)(3)) to support Main Street planner services for downtown beautification.
Lily McDaniel, Main Street director, had briefed council during an earlier work session and asked the council to revise the crosswalk installation project scope to instead fund Main Street planners. The council approved transferring up to $12,500 of the grant funds to the nonprofit, not to exceed the $25,000 total grant award.
The motion to amend the grant usage carried by council voice vote with no recorded opposition.
