Syosset board approves transportation and environmental consultants for Propel New York after gaining party status

The Syosset Central School District board convened a special meeting at 6:31 p.m. and approved two resolutions to retain transportation and environmental consultants for the Propel New York project.

The action came after the district was granted party status in the Propel New York proceeding earlier this week; Dr. Rogers said the special meeting was scheduled so the district could move quickly to pursue potential funding to defray consultant costs.

Mr. Greco moved to approve transportation consultant services for the project; Ms. Falcope seconded the motion. Ms. Ebertson moved to approve environmental consultant services; Ms. Kocia seconded. The board chair called for votes, asked "All in favor? Opposed? Any abstentions?" and the transcript records no opposition or abstentions. The motions were approved on the record of the special meeting.

"Just for sake of, keeping this with these 2 resolutions, the board was, granted the school district was granted party status. So at your May meeting, you voted to seek getting party status in this proceeding, and we were, earlier this week granted party status. And so, the reason for the special meeting is so that we can, move, quickly and possibly, take advantage of some, funding that might defray some of the cost of these experts who are helping us. So, I appreciate the board, making this time available so that we can take advantage of this potential opportunity before the deadline. Thank you," Dr. Rogers said during the public portion.

The public portion ended and the special meeting adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
