Park County commissioners accepted a bid from CK Civil to handle scrap-metal recycling at the Powell, Cody and Clark landfills after a sealed-bid review.
County staff reported two bids: Western Metals Recycling (Salt Lake City) at $91.51 per ton and CK Civil at $113.55 per ton. Staff recommended awarding to CK Civil, noting the county typically prefers the highest responsible bidder and that CK Civil is a Park County contractor. A commissioner moved to accept the CK Civil bid; the motion passed on voice vote.
County staff said the contractor must begin work within 30 days of notice to proceed and that normal contract timelines apply for completion. The county described the award as a routine procurement to maximize revenue from salvage metal.
