The Lawrenceburg City Advisory Planning Commission on June 4 approved a JDJ surveying plat that readjusts two tracts on a property referred to in the meeting as the NANS property, a change the presenter said balances two buildable lots and reflects a previously approved state driveway permit.
Dennis Krause Jr., JDJ Surveying and Engineering, said the revised plat consolidates and reconfigures a horseshoe-shaped tract and a separate lot so that the owner, identified in the meeting as Chad, could retain a smaller tract and put the house and valley lot on the market. Krause said, "We went through the permitting process with the state of Indiana to make sure that we could get a driveway access access on the State Road 48 or Bilby Road. I've got the permit number shown on the plan. It was approved."
Commissioners and staff confirmed the request complied with city code. John (staff member) said the lots meet the city's requirements and that the requested configuration does not violate the code. Resident Joel Mitch asked about curb-cut and driveway width; John said driveway widths depend on the setting and cited a maximum curb cut he had to verify in the code, noting lane widths around 12 to 14 feet and a possible curb cut of about 35 feet for a two-car area.
After public comment a commissioner moved to approve the plat and a second was given. The commission approved the plat by voice vote. The action adjusts legal lot lines; it does not itself authorize additional construction beyond what code allows or change zoning.
