Council awards 2025 sidewalk‑gaps construction contract to Fury Site Works

The North Bend City Council on June 3 awarded the 2025 sidewalk gaps construction contract to Fury Site Works, approving a project that will add sidewalks at four locations around the city.
Public Works staff described four work sites: Southeast 140th Street (approach to Twin Falls Middle School and the future roundabout), Thrasher Avenue NE (near Torgerson Park), North Bend Way between Dahlgren Family Park and Snoqualmie Valley Trail, and North Bend Way between Tanner Road and 140th Street. Mark Rigos, who presented the item, said the city received seven bids and that the low bid was approximately $500,000 below the engineer’s estimate.
Funding for the sidewalk package will come from transportation impact fees and the Transportation Benefit District (0.2 percent sales tax). Staff said construction mobilization is planned to begin in June and will improve safety and pedestrian connectivity to schools, parks and trails.
Council members expressed broad support for sidewalks and public safety benefits; the resolution awarding the construction contract (AB25‑063) passed unanimously.
