At the June 4 meeting the Park Board of Commissioners was notified that a fiber network cabinet proposed by Tilson would be placed at Ruggles Park.
Ryan Hogan, speaking on behalf of Tilson, requested placement of a standard fiber cabinet. Parks staff said the cabinet is a typical piece of infrastructure that would route fiber from the provider to customers and that the proposal would require review and approval by the city engineer and the city clerk's office before installation. "They're just coming to us to let us know that it's going in," a staff member said. "It doesn't seem like it's something that we would not want to put in."
Commissioner Amber Burns moved to approve the notification; Commissioner Victor Farias seconded and the motion carried. Board members recorded no technical objections but noted the standard interdepartmental review must be completed.
