The county’s Veterans Affairs department presented amendments that raise the food-assistance cap from $40 to $100 and increase rent-assistance eligibility from $500 to $1,000. The department also said it had created two administrative forms to track funeral-expense requests and grave-marker requests for better recordkeeping.
A supervisor noted the policy adjustments had already been operating in practice and that the board was adopting written policy changes to conform to recent practice. The board approved the policy updates by roll call.
