Council hears updates on Pioneer Park groundbreaking, HVAC enclosure design and planned IT appropriation

The manufacturer’s quoted price was $6,500 for the enclosure (manufacturing cost; installation cost not provided). Tim Bennett told the council the street department could install the units on an existing concrete pad; council members asked for time to review the renditions and discuss installation details at the next meeting.
Finance and IT staff also briefed council members about an anticipated additional appropriation ordinance related to IT replacement and possible server projects. Staff said an initial estimate for replacing some computers is about $115,000 and that an ordinance (labeled Ordinance 6 in the meeting packet) could total approximately $250,000 for IT needs; staff noted concerns about future revenue declines and asked the council to consider financing options such as leasing.
Council members accepted the updates and asked staff to return with installation cost estimates for the HVAC enclosure, formal appropriation language and a public hearing on the additional appropriation at the next meeting.
