William Penn SD sets July 30, 2025 deadline for Evans and East Lansdowne punch-list items

Darnell Deans, facilities staff for William Penn School District, told the property committee on June 3 that the remaining punch-list items at Evans and East Lansdowne will be completed by July 30, 2025 and that a significant portion of the list is already finished.
The update matters because completing punch-list tasks clears the way for final occupancy details and ensures safety, signage and aesthetic items are finished before the school year. Deans listed remaining work that includes replacing damaged pendant lights, finishing interior signage (delayed in some cases to accommodate program decisions), installing school-curated digital murals on feature walls, and cleaning or repairing metal housings around thermostats.
At East Lansdowne specifically, Deans said the gym needs repainting and work remains on the new window sills for three newly created windows; the district is also exploring a cost-neutral option to resurface grass at the back of East Lansdowne and has been seeking a vendor that will maintain sod through the summer rather than installing turf that may not survive.
Committee members had no further questions during the update. Deans said staff will begin interior-signage work with school leaders in the next couple of weeks and will continue to track punch-list completion toward the July 30 target.
Next steps: staff to coordinate with school leaders on signage and digital-mural installation and to complete remaining lighting, painting, window-sill and exterior-sod tasks by July 30, 2025.
