Newnan council narrows construction and landscaping work hours, approves noise ordinance change

The Newnan City Council unanimously approved an amendment to city ordinance chapter 10, article 2, section 10-36 establishing revised evening cut-off times for construction and landscaping noise.
Under the amendment, construction noise must cease at 8 p.m. and landscaping noise must cease at 9 p.m. The change was made following prior council discussion and a directive for the city attorney to prepare revised ordinance language.
Council voted unanimously to adopt the amendment; the revised ordinance language will be reflected in the city's code and enforced by staff per existing noise enforcement procedures.
