Block party draws estimated 5,500; Downtown Association and The Bend outline summer schedule

Representatives from the Downtown West Bend Association and The Bend reported a large turnout for the recent downtown block party and previewed a schedule of summer events including Music on Main, the farmers market and a new two‑day Global Fest.
Noel and Leona, representing the Downtown West Bend Association and The Bend, told the board the block party drew an estimated 5,500 attendees based on aerial counts and that the crowd size has grown from previous years. The event also marked the kickoff of the twentieth anniversary season of Music on Main, which will run on Thursdays at Old Settlers Park for the next 13 weeks.
Organizers thanked sponsors and city staff for support and said the farmers market — which began May 17 — is progressing as vendor stalls fill for summer. They described Global Fest, a new city event planned for the end of June that will showcase over 30 nations with performances, food and artisans across two days.
The Bend also provided a program calendar of forthcoming concerts and special events through July and August. Organizers said ticket sales for some headline acts are strong and that partnerships with nonprofit fundraisers are in place for select performances.
Board members thanked organizers for their reports; no board action was required.
