Facade grant round draws no applications; committee will roll funds into future rounds

The façade committee reported there were no applications for the current grant round. Staff said they met with three property owners who intended to refine plans and apply in a later round, and a project awarded last June appears stalled due to incomplete building permits and will likely return its grant allocation to the façade program.
The BID’s façade allocation of roughly $7,500 for this round will roll over into the next cycle and be available during the August–September budget process. Staff said previously awarded projects — the Boys and Girls Club and a Hussar project with a new architect — are moving forward and staff expects to see activity on those awards soon.
Because there were no applications to review, the façade committee planned to cancel its scheduled meeting for the seventeenth and reconvene when there are applications to consider.
