Committee reviews boardroom layout and plans AV upgrade

Members of the Iroquois County Management Services Committee reviewed a proposed boardroom table and seating configuration July 20 and discussed next steps for an audio-visual upgrade with vendor Area Wide.
A committee member said the room will be used “as is” for a trial period while staff and members test sight lines, acoustics and circulation. The committee discussed table placement, public seating, staff workstation needs and the location of one or two podiums; one member suggested placing additional small tables or moving the main table to the center to improve public circulation.
Staff said Area Wide will be asked to prepare an AV proposal that covers cameras, microphones and display integration. Committee members asked staff to gather feedback after the first few meetings in the new configuration before committing to a larger AV contract or additional furniture purchases.
No formal vote was recorded on the AV contract or on furniture purchases during the meeting; staff will continue to gather user feedback and coordinate with the AV vendor.
