Superintendent Gleason told the RSU 06 / MSAD 06 school board that a recent procurement review of the district—s school nutrition program found "no findings." He credited Nutrition Director Erin Miller for managing distributor sourcing and compliance when product origin is not clearly labeled.
Gleeson also briefed the board on SUNBUCKS, a State of Maine summer feeding benefit program. The superintendent said some families will receive a benefits card by mail while others may need to apply; he directed community members to links included in a district letter for details.
On the academic calendar, Gleeson confirmed June 16 will be the final day of the school year, noting it will be an early-release schedule (11:30 a.m. for high school and middle school, 12:30 p.m. for elementary). He said earlier messaging that listed June 12 as the last day had been superseded and that days between now and June 13 are full school days. He also reminded the community the local election on June 10 will include the school budget vote.
Gleeson announced that Linda Winton, director of adult education, will retire effective July 11 and that the district is accepting interest for the position. He closed by noting the packet also included student enrollment, truancy, support-staff new hires and resignations.
