The Lake City Council on June 2 adopted on second reading ordinance 2025-2317 to permanently close, vacate and abandon portions of Northeast Bailey Street, Northeast La Rose Street and Northeast Alfonso Levy Terrace abutting property owned by the Columbia County School District.
Staff said the action responds to an intergovernmental request from the school district and the ordinance authorizes the city to convey the closed portions by quitclaim deed to the district. The ordinance includes findings of fact, severability and conflict-repeal language.
No members of the public registered to comment. The council moved and seconded a motion to adopt the ordinance on final reading; Miss Sykes recorded unanimous affirmative roll-call votes from councilmembers present. No amendments or conditions were recorded in the hearing.
