The Lake City Council on June 2 approved on second reading ordinance 2025-2313 (future land use change) and ordinance 2025-2314 (rezoning) for a parcel recently annexed into the city and associated with Seacoast National Bank (formerly Drummond National Bank).
Staff described the parcel as surrounded by County Highway Interchange and city commercial designations. The request, filed by Jacob T. Creamer of Stearns Weaver Miller as agent for Seacoast National Bank, seeks to change the county designations to the city-equivalent Commercial Highway Interchange (CHI) and to set the future land use as city commercial.
Attorney Martin and staff reminded the council that quasi-judicial evidentiary standards apply; the planning and zoning board recommended approval and the council had approved the measures on first reading at an earlier meeting. The applicant’s representatives were present but did not present formal testimony beyond confirming availability for questions.
Councilmembers voted by roll call to adopt the ordinances on second reading; Miss Sykes recorded affirmative votes from Councilmember Carter, Councilmember Young, Councilmember Jernigan, Councilmember Harris and Mayor Walker. No public comment or cross-examination was recorded.
