Glover said the Rainier Audubon Nature Festival at Flaming Geyser State Park is a free park-entry day on Saturday, June 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with bird walks, children's crafts, telescope viewing and presentations. He also said a family-focused Rhythm and Rhyme story hour with the Auburn Symphony Orchestra is scheduled the same day at the Postmark Center for the Arts.
Glover described Juneteenth programming on Sunday, June 22 at Les Gove Park, noting the federal holiday falls on June 19; he said Juneteenth activities will be integrated with the farmers market and located near the community event center. The farmers market season is underway; Glover mentioned recurring vendors such as a knife-sharpening vendor and noted the market has moved closer to the community event center this year.
On the Hops and Crops festival, Glover said growers harvest hops that a local brewery uses to make a seasonal beer called Mary Olson Red, and he encouraged residents to consult the magazine and city calendar for full event listings.
