City to stage three Party on the Plaza Friday nights with music, vendors and beer/wine gardens

Jonathan Glover, communications manager for the city of Auburn, said the city will host Party on the Plaza on three Fridays in June, July and August from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at City Hall Plaza, featuring live music, craft vendors and a beer and wine garden.
Glover described themed nights: a taco-themed evening with free salsa lessons and a Santana-style band, a rock-themed “Rock the Block” night in July, and a Jimmy Buffett–themed set called "Cheeseburger in Paradise" in August. He also noted a car show will accompany one of the summer dates.
Because Main Street will be closed for construction, Glover said the city will close only part of Division Street to create space for event activities and maintain egress for traffic. "If you just follow the music, you'll find it," he said, inviting downtown and non-downtown residents to attend. Admission to the events is free; food and drinks cost extra.
Glover encouraged attendees to use available parking garages and street parking and to check the city website for updates on exact dates and vendor lineups.
