Hills of Comics site cleared; Main Street work will require short and extended closures, city says

Jonathan Glover, communications manager for the city of Auburn, said demolition work downtown removed the Hills of Comics building and that the parcel is now a temporary gravel lot ahead of future construction that will include a park.
Glover said other downtown changes are already underway: "B Street Paws is getting ripped up right now," and Main Street will be closed for a short, planned period and "that will remain closed through August," he said. He cautioned organizers will stage work to preserve traffic egress while nearby projects proceed.
The hosts discussed pedestrian access and the location of planned park space next to the cleared site; Glover said more construction and road closures are expected as redevelopment progresses and advised residents to follow the city’s event and traffic updates for precise timings.
For now, Glover encouraged downtown residents to expect construction noise and localized closures as the work continues over the summer.
