Council approves two conditional use permits for sanitary sewer pump‑station rehabilitation

Dan Warner, planning division director, presented two conditional use permit requests on May 20 for rehabilitation of existing sanitary sewer pump stations.
Warner said the first permit covers a rehabilitation at 3559 Southeast Shoreline Drive and the second at 3305 Southeast West Edge Road. Each Central Use Permit (CUP) includes notes limiting odor, noise and traffic. The applicants held neighborhood information meetings; Planning Commission recommended approval for both items and staff recommended approval to the governing body.
Council members disclosed ex parte communications where applicable and moved to approve as recommended. Councilman Dogler (motion) and Councilman Banks (second) moved to approve the Shoreline Drive CUP; Deputy Mayor moved and Councilman Banks seconded approval of the West Edge Road CUP. Both motions passed 9–0.
The council did not record additional conditions on the floor; staff will proceed with the permitting and rehabilitation process.
