Josh Lauber, representing the Department of Finance, summarized Board of Bids and Contracts awards dated June 2, 2025, and asked the Wichita City Council to approve the listed contract awards.
Lauber presented multiple awards across engineering, utilities and airport procurement. Notable awards included a $3,061,976 contract for the Maple Street Booster Pump Station to Don Linger and Sons Construction Co., and an aggregate $6,604,947.30 award to Meese Construction Inc. for water-main, storm-drain, sanitary sewer and paving to serve Pegasus and Pegasus Second Additions. The council also approved a $480,000 roof replacement for the Evergreen Park Recreation Building (AR Commercial Roofing LLC) and a $509,090.65 purchase of a hydro-excavator vacuum truck (Key Equipment and Supply Co.). The airport-related award included a Caterpillar motor grader for $398,774.29 to Foley Equipment Company.
Lauber also noted smaller awards and contract changes, including a request to extend the false-alarm registration and management services contract with Central Square Technologies for 180 days.
Council member Ballard moved approval of the board; the motion passed 7–0.
