Council previews June 10 economic development package including CID, revenue bonds and IRB
Summary
City staff previewed several economic development items for the June 10 council meeting, including a proposed 2% CID for the Sosee mixed-use development, multiple revenue bond approvals, an IRB for a manufacturing project, and changes to the city's open records fee schedule.
Wichita staff on May 30 previewed a slate of economic development items scheduled to lead off new business at the June 10 council meeting.
The first item would authorize a 2% community improvement district (CID) for the Sosee mixed-use development at the corner of Lincoln and South Broadway. Staff also listed two airport special-facility revenue bonds, a multifamily residential revenue bond, and an industrial revenue bond (IRB) for a manufacturing product project. Additional items previewed included changes to the city's open records ordinance fee schedule to reflect recent state legislative changes, ratification of an online cataloging agreement for the library, the annual arterial sidewalk program, and an annual sewer-main extension program for future development.
Staff did not present final financing terms or ordinance language during the preview. The items are scheduled for formal consideration on June 10 and will include the standard public-notice and consent or deliberative processes as applicable.
