A council member thanked staff for obtaining three quotes for the portable-restroom contract and noted that Absolute Portable Restroom (APR) provided a competitive price; he said APR had performed well for the county park board. The approval was routine and part of the consent calendar.
Council members also asked Chief Myers whether authorizing alcohol sales at the car show posed concerns. Chief Myers said, "No. There's always concerns with any alcohol issue. But as far as some of this like, that city event, generically what it is, we haven't seen any issues with that event as itself. So I don't see an issue with that piece of the puzzle, as well as that vendor has participated in city events in the past and has been responsible there." The council approved the consent agenda 5-0.
No further discussion or conditions about the alcohol authorization were recorded in the meeting minutes.
