Stantec presents three high-level concepts for Lehi property; EDA puts project on standby pending funding

Stantec consultant Sarah Harding presented three high-level concept plans for the Lehi property and adjacent privately owned parcel that aim to connect the site to the Crow River.
Harding said the three concepts are: a large outdoor/indoor event venue with open access to the water; a terraced building with indoor/outdoor retail and outfitter services to serve river users; and a lower-capital “flex space” catalyst with open-air pavilions suitable for markets or rentals and reduced floodplain impact. Harding noted the entire parcel lies in the floodplain and that parking needs would differ depending on whether the neighboring property is included.
EDA members discussed outfitter uses (canoe/kayak rentals), seasonality concerns, and potential cooperation with neighboring cities and the National Park Service on a water trail. The EDA did not direct staff to negotiate for the adjacent parcel and agreed to put the project on standby pending clarity on state funding; the EDA acknowledged it has funds in its account but asked to await funding decisions before initiating negotiations.
