The police chief told the council that the city had allocated $36,000 in the 2024 capital improvement fund for the server and had spent $30,575 so far, including some labor and setup costs. The UPS is required because the server needs a 220-volt power source and protection from outages.
Council member Hanson made the motion to approve the purchase and Council member Glaze seconded. The council approved the item by voice vote. The chief said installation of the UPS will allow the department to complete server setup.
