The Little Falls police chief presented the department's 2024 annual report at the Little Falls City Council meeting on May 19, saying the department handled 8,818 calls for service in 2024, down from 9,048 in 2023, and that the overall reported crime total fell to 4,170 from 4,491 the prior year.
The report also showed a rise in the department's clearance rate: "We are currently at 44.3%, and last year, it was 42.6%," the chief said. The presentation noted the department started a drone program in 2024 and launched a social worker program in November to respond to certain calls for service.
The chief said the city allocated $36,000 in the capital improvement fund in 2024 for a new police server and that the department has received support from city staff and the council during leadership changes. Council members thanked the chief and said they had received positive comments from residents about department performance.
The presentation was placed on file by the council as a nonbinding informational item.
