Kandiyohi County signs amended contract with Central Community Transit; admin fee raised by $0.10/mile

Kandiyohi County commissioners on May 20 approved an amended contract with Central Community Transit (CCT) that raises the administrator fee by 10 cents per mile.
Caroline Khan, director of Health and Human Services, said county staff worked with CCT and partner counties to balance sustainability for the regional transit provider while minimizing county cost. Based on last year's mileage, Khan estimated the change would produce a levy impact of “just shy of $7,000.”
Khan told the board the amended contract clarifies host county language and the new fee is intended to support long‑term sustainability of CCT, which provides medical, volunteer and other transit services across Kandiyohi, Meeker and Renville counties. Commissioners approved the contract by motion and voice vote.
The contract takes immediate effect; county staff will continue coordination with CCT and partner counties on service and fiscal reporting.
