Board approves CASI cost-allocation plan and $4,004.50 invoice for fiscal 2024

The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors approved a certificate of cost allocation prepared by Cost Advisory Services, Inc. (CASI) for fiscal 2024 and authorized payment of CASI's invoice for $4,004.50 at the May 19 meeting.
County staff said CASI performs an annual cost-allocation analysis for Department of Human Services (DHS) local administrative expense claims and that the county typically claims a portion of indirect costs. The packet showed a total indirect cost claim figure of $99,005 for the coming fiscal reporting period; staff said about 33 percent of that profiling is expected to be reimbursable to the county under DHS rules.
A motion to approve the certificate and authorize the chair to sign carried; the board then approved the CASI invoice for $4,004.50 by separate motion.
Staff noted that in prior years the county received approximately $44,000 from DHS for local administrative costs; the board did not change the county's participation in the CASI program.
