Sheila (board secretary) reviewed the county’s vehicle-use policy, dated in materials as December 14. She said most standard insurance ID cards do not show liability limits and that the county needs a certificate of liability insurance to confirm the required minimum liability coverage. The board discussed which county roles commonly use personal vehicles, including home care, public health, and elected officials.
After discussion about insurance-company practices, the board agreed by consensus to ask drivers to submit the certificate within 15 days; if the certificate is not received, staff said mileage reimbursement could be denied until documentation is provided.
