Chickasaw County OKs 300-hour IT contract with 20/20 FX

The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors authorized the chair to sign an IT services agreement with 20/20 FX for 300 block hours for the next fiscal year, the board decided at its May 19 meeting.
County staff said the current contractor has remaining hours in the current fiscal year and recommended renewing a block-hours contract. Sheila (board secretary) told the board she had contacted Dennis Hans of 20/20 FX; the contractor reported unused hours remaining and recommended a 300-hour block for the coming year.
The director noted block-hour pricing offers a discounted hourly rate compared with casual labor; the service agreement materials in the meeting packet identified a normal casual labor rate and a reduced block-hour rate. The county clarified that hours beyond the block would be billed at a higher hourly rate stated in the agreement.
Board discussion covered which departments use the contractor’s hours (the sheriff’s office and EMS were described as having separate arrangements) and the county’s choice to buy a single block of hours to serve the rest of county departments. A motion to authorize the chair to execute a contract with 20/20 FX for 300 hours carried after a voice vote.
The board did not set a departmental allocation of those hours during the meeting; staff said the contractor would attempt to complete remaining work this fiscal year with the hours left on the current block and would work under the new block next year.
The board voted in favor of the motion.
