County Treasurer Scott Grindstaff presented the monthly delinquent-tax collection report to the Board of Supervisors on May 27, 2025.
Grindstaff reported collection rates "for the April" period and provided month and year-to-date dollar figures. In his presentation he stated the personal-property collection rate as "87.5% of '24 personal property taxes" and real-estate collections "as of April 30" at "93.93% of the '24 real estate taxes." He reported monthly collections in the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars and referenced debt-setoff recoveries.
Quoting Grindstaff's presentation: "During the month, we collected 492,000 hundred $17. Real estate collections, as of April 30, we collected 93.93% of the 24 real estate taxes. During the month, we collected a hundred and $56,755. Since 01/01/2025, TACS collected $462,904. And with our debt set off efforts, we collected $73,007.57 for the month of May.
