At the request of the parking clerk, staff explained the bus stop at the end of Broadway had been moved to Cross Street following a pedestrian crash; the area near Cross Street has unclear signage and residents assumed parking was not allowed. Commissioners voted to add two meter spaces to normalize signage and extend an existing metered stretch.
Commissioner of Public Works Kate Foxland provided a brief construction update, reporting crews are installing new sewer mains and drainage on sections of Broadway, Hawthorne, Bellingham and other nearby streets, and that building reconnections and fiber work in sidewalks are scheduled through June and July. She said contractors will continue four-day work weeks to give residents a three-day weekend break from construction and that staff would notify affected businesses ahead of fiber and sidewalk work.
The meter installation and utility update were procedural; the meter vote was approved in the meeting and the public-works update was informational.
