Germantown committee approves outdoor-entertainment and outside-premises renewals after widespread noise complaints

The Germantown Public Safety Committee voted to approve outside‑premises extension renewals and outdoor entertainment permits after several residents said loud amplified music and bass from local bars and beer gardens are disrupting nearby homes.

Residents told the committee the problem is ongoing and in some cases has left floors and walls vibrating. "Our floors and walls are vibrating. That boom boom boom," said Caroline Schuster, a resident who lives adjacent to the venue she identified as the Beer Stubby. John Bartel, another nearby resident, said the volume is "offensive" and has forced residents to keep doors and windows closed.

The committee’s action allows the renewal applications to move forward; members repeatedly said the Village Board will take the ultimate vote and that the village attorney should be present when the full board considers any changes to enforcement or the permitting process.
