GGF and staff reviewed multiple quotes and trimmed some line items before forwarding the item to the board. Trustees examined whether certain devices — podium laptops, court laptops, evidence room terminals and dispatch computers — could be repurposed rather than replaced. Village staff confirmed two summer interns in the engineering department and explained that some dispatch desktops would be repurposed for clerical use.
After debate, Trustee Kaminski moved to send the matter back to GGF for additional cost‑saving review; the board approved the motion. Trustees asked GGF to get clearer, itemized vendor pricing showing labor vs. hardware and to investigate the Microsoft extended security option and whether targeted memory upgrades or reimaging could reduce costs.
No capital expenditure was approved at the meeting; the item will return to GGF with more detailed vendor breakdowns and staff recommendations.
