The Goldendale City Council on June 2 approved a memorandum of understanding with Klickitat County to receive up to $116,692 in reimbursement funding from the county’s 0.09 economic development sales tax for infrastructure improvements to an incubator space.
City staff presented a list of budgeted improvements developed with public works and the city’s engineer, and said the county’s economic development office helped prepare the grant application. The funding is reimbursement-based: the city will complete work, document eligible expenses and submit receipts for reimbursement up to the agreed cap.
The council motion to approve the memorandum passed with no recorded opposition.
Staff said projects covered by the MOU are intended to prepare the incubator space for future tenants and economic development opportunities; specific scope items were included in an attached project list and budget that staff will use to implement the work.
