Councilors approve revised sewer easement for D'Angelo's project

The Brockton Finance Committee on June 2 recommended favorably a revised sewer easement to allow D'Angelo's, Inc. to relocate roughly 150 feet of sewer main at city‑owned land identified as 651 Belmont Street to accommodate a new drive‑through.
DPW Commissioner Pat Hill said the developer will pay for the relocation and that the city is “perfectly content with the change in flow direction that was proposed.” Hill estimated the private work at roughly $25,000 to $30,000 and said the project can proceed once the easement is approved.
Councilors asked who would pay the costs and Hill replied, “They’re paying for it.” A motion to recommend the revised easement favorably was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. The easement will be executed by the mayor upon council approval, and the city solicitor or her designee participated in the committee discussion.
