Lawrenceburg council authorizes architect consult for police command center upgrade

She explained that while the fire department has a meeting room that could serve during a natural disaster, the proposed command center would be configured more toward incidents such as an active shooter. Malone said, “All I'm asking is let Austin have somebody come and take a look, see about what it might cost us in a ballpark figure.”
Council members approved a motion to give staff the ability to consult an architect; the motion passed by voice vote. The council did not adopt design plans or authorize construction funding at the meeting — the action was limited to seeking an initial assessment and cost estimate.
