Albany County approves RFPs for psychiatric nurse practitioner services for adult and juvenile supervised-treatment participants

Heather explained the procurement model has shifted from a lump-sum monthly payment to a per-visit payment to better match cost to actual service use. She said she solicited rates from local psychiatric nurse practitioners; the single response she received listed rates the county used in the RFP: $267 for a new-patient office visit, $272 for high-complexity visits and $202 for medium-complexity visits. The board voted to approve the RFP and direct the clerk to advertise.
The juvenile RFP covers similar mental-health assessment and medication-management services for up to six juvenile participants and is funded through federal dollars; the proposed annual ceiling for the juvenile program is $6,000. Commissioners approved that RFP and directed the clerk to advertise.
