The district’s strategic plan (adopted in 2022) contains five goals: student growth and achievement; learning environment and supports; recruiting and supporting diverse, high‑quality staff; building family and community partnerships; and resource effectiveness. Administrators said each goal is supported by an action team of roughly 20–25 staff who met in May to review this year’s work and identify priorities for next year. Leadership will refine those priority lists with board feedback this month and bring recommended priorities to the board for approval on June 16.
Administrators said the plan governs how the district chooses near‑term priorities rather than listing every operational task. Board members asked how curricular leadership transitions — specifically the incoming role of Dr. Payne — will affect the curriculum work under Goal 1; administrators said Dr. Payne has been involved in transition activities since February and will continue the curriculum review and rollout.
