Council adopts compliance-maintenance resolution; wastewater plant receives top score

The Waupaca Common Council approved Resolution No. 1577 on June 3, the Compliance Maintenance Annual Report (CMAR) required by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for the city’s wastewater treatment plant.
Justin Behrend explained the CMAR is a DNR report card that assesses the plant across testing and operational parameters. A score of 4 is the highest rating; the plant received a 4 for the current reporting year, a level the plant has held since 2018 (with one earlier exception). Because of that top score, the resolution states no additional maintenance actions are required at this time.
The council approved the resolution on a roll call with unanimous “aye” votes. No maintenance items or capital projects were requested as part of the resolution.
