Board approves Postpartum Recovery and Parental Leave policy (2HR-209) to take effect July 1

The Davis School District Board of Education adopted policy 2HR-209, titled Postpartum Recovery and Parental Leave, on second and final reading. The board heard a brief presentation and then voted to adopt the policy, which board staff said will take effect July 1.

"This is our second reading. There has not been any changes," presenter Mister Onofrio told the board before the vote. Board members had discussed the policy previously in workshop sessions.

Miss Price moved to approve policy 2HR-209 on second and final reading; Miss Stevens seconded. The board approved the policy by voice vote.

Board members did not state any amendments during the meeting. Staff noted the effective date during the vote process: "It will not be effective until July 1," Mister Onofrio said.

The district will implement the new policy beginning July 1 and notify affected employees and supervisors of operational details and any procedural forms required under the new policy.
