Davis School Board adopts 2024–25 final budget

The Davis School District Board of Education approved the district's final budget for the 2024'25 school year after a presentation by district finance staff and a brief public-record motion and vote.

Board members said the adoption completes the multistep budget process and thanked staff who compiled the documents. "This is the graduation of the 24/25 budget," Finance staff member Mister Loeffel said before the motion.

The board discussed the staff work supporting the budget and noted recent personnel transitions in the finance office. Board President Gerard and members thanked Jenny Manning and Nathan Lee for help finalizing the budget after a retirement in the finance office during the process. "Jenny has done a lot... and so has Nathan Lee," Mister Loeffel said.

Miss Hogan moved to approve the 2024'25 final budget "as presented." Miss Mercer seconded. The board voted in favor with a voice vote; the chair called for aye and reported the motion passed.

The board did not amend the budget during the meeting. Board members said the vote is the last step in the public budget process and allows staff to finalize revenues and expenditures and proceed with implementation for the coming school year.

Board members thanked the finance team for their work and moved on to remaining business items.

Looking ahead, staff will proceed to implement the adopted budget and prepare any required state reporting and updates to departments and school leaders.
