Community High School District 94 on Thursday presented a newly developed data dashboard intended to identify students at risk by tracking attendance, behavioral incidents and core-course failures in near-real time.
The dashboard, built with support from district staff and an external data integration specialist, is intended to let counselors, deans and social workers 'drill down' from school- and class-level trends to lists of individual students so staff can provide timely intervention. Dave, a district staff member who helped translate teacher needs to the technical team, called the tool "huge" and said it enables interventions that were not possible when data were only available in arrears.
