Facilities staff highlighted the Bridal Services Building, noting visible progress on flooring and finishes and inviting committee members to a Friday site visit. Staff reported completion of demolition work at Fairview and said the site is ready to move to the next step in redevelopment. The public defenders' office build was described as entering phase two, with new netting and interior work visible.
Staff also provided a status update on a countywide LED lighting project. The committee heard the design and engineering phases are complete and staff expect to release a request for proposals (RFP) within the next month, with the 200 West Front Street building and the jail booking and mental health area identified as the initial priorities for retrofit. Staff said newer control technologies that have emerged since the project began will be incorporated to increase accessibility and innovation.
Aside from those capital items, staff said routine preventative maintenance is underway as the county prepares for the warm season, including chiller start-ups and other equipment checks. The committee did not take formal action on these informational items; staff invited members to visit project sites and will continue to provide regular updates.
