Riverton awards Spruce Street utility replacement contract to Bornhoff Construction for $897,014

The Riverton City Council on June 3 approved a $897,014 contract award to Bornhoff Construction for the Spruce Street utility replacement project.
Public Works Director reported the project replaces approximately 1,344 linear feet of sewer pipe, 1,810 feet of 8-inch and 6-inch waterline, about 65 feet of 10-inch storm or sewer pipe, and replaces three fire hydrants to meet current code spacing. Two firms bid the work; Bornhoff had the low responsive bid.
Funding for the project includes a $360,000 mineral royalty grant awarded earlier this year; staff said the remaining $538,000 will come from the city's optional 1% infrastructure funds. The council moved and approved the award by voice vote.
Council members and staff said the rework will support development in the Eastern Shoshone Business Park and is timed to coordinate with other local development activity. City staff recommended the award as responsive and within available funding.
Construction is scheduled to begin pending standard contract execution and permitting.
